VICTOR CHANDLER AWARDED FIRST ONLINE GAMING LICENSE IN ARGENTINA


Victor Chandler, the online gaming company in its 60th anniversary year and with a turnover in excess of $2 billion a year, made history this week by becoming the first major international bookmaker to be granted and begin operating under a betting and gaming licence in Argentina. The customised, localised site will launch later this month.

The historical move will see Victor Chandler offer a full range of internet gaming services to Argentina. Alongside the traditional sports betting (vcapuestas.com.ar), which the Chandler name has represented for 60 years, the group will also be launching their rapidly expanding poker (vcpoker.com.ar), casino (vccasino.com.ar) and games (vcjuegos.com.ar) websites in Argentina.

The ground-breaking move was brought about after Victor Chandler and local Partners worked closely with IPLyC (the official licensing authority) in the Province of Misiones in order to offer the full range of betting and gaming products throughout the country of Argentina.

23/08/2006 - Victor Chandler Confirms 60th Anniversary Celebrations

Victor Chandler is today pleased to announce arrangements have been finalised for the company’s 60th Anniversary Gala Evening at Walthamstow Stadium on Saturday 16th September 2006.

Victor Chandler have contributed total prize money in excess of £12,000 for three invitational races to be run on the evening. The races will be run over the distances of 475m, 640m and 835m with prize money of £3,000 to the winner, £500 to the runner-up and £150 for all other runners. These three races will be supported by a further 11 open races on the evening.

Admission to the evening will be free of charge for all spectators and on entering the stadium spectators will receive a free racecard complete with a free drinks voucher and free prize draw entry.

Current Chairman Victor Chandler’s Grandfather founded the Walthamstow track in 1933 before forming the bookmaking business, now based in Gibraltar, in 1946.

21/08/2006 - VICTOR CHANDLER RESPONDS TO TAKEOVER SPECULATION

Following reports in the national press regarding a possible takeover bid of the Victor Chandler Group, the company’s Chief Executive Michael Carlton today confirmed that the company had enlisted the services of Zeus Capital to handle approaches from potential buyers, but also reiterated that at the present time the company has not received any firm bids.

Michael Carlton commented “Victor Chandler as a company, being one of the largest independent gambling operators, have received at times unsolicited attention. We have employed Zeus Capital to handle such approaches, so as not to detract from the day-to-day operations of the business. We have, however, at the moment received no firm approaches”

Victor Chandler, Chairman is currently on holiday for two weeks.

Victor Chandler is chairman and driving force behind Britain's leading independent bookmaker.

He is widely acknowledged as the architect of a worldwide betting revolution that had its roots in Britain.
